Free Games This Week: Epic Games Store, Prime Gaming & More

Claim now, play later. Here's the first week of September's free games, pulled from Epic, Prime Gaming, and a few other platforms worth checking.

Epic Games Store

Claim by September 3, 2026, 8 AM PT at the Epic Games Store free games page.

Breathedge

Breathedge (normally $24.99) — a first-person survival game where you're stranded in the wreckage of a space hearse, scavenging zero-gravity wreckage for parts while an immortal chicken tags along. Plays its sci-fi setup for comedy rather than dread.

Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition (normally $29.99) — a full horse-racing sim covering racing, breeding, and virtual betting, not just the mobile version's stripped-down loop.

Down in Bermuda

Down in Bermuda (normally $19.99) — a puzzle-adventure where a stranded aviator is trapped in a time loop across six mysterious islands, cracking codes and collecting orbs to find a way home.

Together After Dark (normally $2.99) — co-op horror where two players are stuck in a forest overnight, trying to survive whatever's out there together.

NoRush! (normally $2.49) — a tower-climbing platformer built around exactly the opposite of its name: careful, unhurried movement over speed.

Right behind it: Alone With You goes free September 3–10, so there's no gap before the next rotation.

Alone With You

Alone With You (normally $9.99) — a bittersweet sci-fi adventure/visual-novel hybrid, escaping a doomed space colony with a troubled AI companion and four holograms for company.

Prime Gaming

If you've got Amazon Prime, this is probably the most-overlooked free games source out there — it doesn't rotate weekly the way Epic does, so it's easy to forget titles are sitting there expiring. Claim everything below from the Prime Gaming claims page.

In Sound Mind

In Sound Mind (normally $34.99, expires Sept 23) — a first-person psychological horror game with puzzle-heavy levels and boss fights, from the team behind cult classic Nightmare House 2.

Spray Paint Simulator

Spray Paint Simulator (normally $11.24, expires Sept 23) — run a spray-painting business in the town of Spatterville, fixing up everything from kitchen cabinets to a giant robot.

Havendock

Havendock (normally $19.99, expires Oct 28) — a cozy ocean colony sim: build a settlement, welcome new arrivals, and grow it into something bigger.

Also included this month: a run of GOG titles (Right and Down, Hiveswap Friendsim, Pyramids and Aliens, Space Grunts 2, Weakless, and Zoria: Age of Shattering) and a run of Epic-via-Luna titles (Airship: Kingdoms Adrift, Steelrising, Space Grunts: Chrono Shard, and Clash: Artifacts of Chaos).

Smaller platforms worth checking

Arena of Trophies

Arena of Trophies (always free-to-play, not a limited claim) — pick from fifteen gladiators and fight through arena battles to build a reputation. No deadline on this one since it's permanently free, not a rotating giveaway.

Game of Mafia

Game of Mafia (normally $9.99, free via IndieGala) — set in 1920s New York, playing an ordinary postman whose old friend pulls him into running a bar instead of delivering packages.

Bad Cat Sam

Bad Cat Sam (normally $2.99, free via IndieGala) — play as a deeply unbothered house cat whose entire job is knocking things over before the owners catch you.

Claim first, decide later — none of these cost anything to add to your library even if you're not sure you'll play them, and Epic/Prime titles are yours to keep once claimed. If none of this week's lineup grabs you, browse this week's actual paid deals instead, or check the live GTA 6 giveaway if you'd rather aim for something bigger than free.

We'll run this as a weekly series — check back for Week 2.
