Grand Theft Auto VI is the most-anticipated release in gaming, and after two delays, there's finally a date that's held. Here's everything actually confirmed — not speculation, not "sources say," just what Rockstar has put its name on.
The release date
November 19, 2026. That's the current, official date, and it's held since Rockstar last moved it in November 2025.
It's worth knowing the path to get there, because it explains why this date carries more weight than the earlier ones did. Rockstar first teased the game with a trailer in December 2023, originally aiming for a 2025 launch. That slipped in May 2025 to May 26, 2026 — a delay Rockstar softened by dropping a second trailer just days later, showing more of Jason and Lucia's story. The date moved once more in November 2025, landing on the November 19, 2026 date that's current now.
Platforms
Confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch. Nothing for PS4 or Xbox One — this is a current-gen-only release.
PC players are waiting longer. Rockstar hasn't given an official PC date, but the pattern from GTA V (which came to PC about 18 months after console) points to a PC release sometime in late 2027 or 2028, not alongside the console launch.
Price and pre-orders
Standard Edition is $79.99, with a $99.99 Ultimate Edition for anyone who wants the extras bundled in day one. Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026, and if you're buying digital, pre-loading opens November 12, 2026 — a week before launch.
Could the date move again?
It's fair to ask, given the track record. But there's a real difference between where the game was during the first two delays and where it is now: pre-orders are open, pre-load is scheduled, and Rockstar gave its most detailed public gameplay look yet in an Extended Look on August 27, 2026. Those are the kinds of commitments studios generally don't walk back this close to launch.
